CABSA Board Members 2015 - 2016
Chairperson – Ms Logy Murrray
Ms Murray was the first employee of CABSA. From 2005 – 2012 she worked for World Vision International as Global Advisor: Faith Partnerships on HIV and Health, after which she retired.
Currently she is an independent consultant, especially for World Vision. Logy is married and has four children and five grandchildren.
Director – Ms Lyn van Rooyen
Lyn van Rooyen is the executive director of CABSA from 1 July 2011. She has a background in nursing and consulting. She is married and has three adult children.
Ms Nomvuyo Baba
Ms Baba is the Managing Director for Mfesane and trained as a Social Worker. She is married and her husband works for the city of Cape Town as ombudsman. She is the mother of two adult children.
Mr Phaphile Celesi
Mr Celesi is the head of the Nehemia Bible Institute and was trained as Churches, Channels of Hope facilitator in 2011. H
Rev. William Ficks
Rev Ficks is an URCSA minister and trained CABSA Facilitator.
Rev. Christo Greyling
Christo Greyling was responsible for the initial development of the "Channels of Hope" methodology. In 2002 he joined World Vision where he currently is the Director of Faith Partnerships for Development. He holds a post graduate degree in theology from the University of Stellenbosch and a master’s degree in Public Heath from the Medical University of Southern Africa.
He is married and has two children.
Prof. Vhumani Magezi
Dr Vhumani Magezi is a Senior Lecturer at North-West University in the School of Basic Sciences. He is a CABSA trained facilitator and was among the first CABSA mentors responsible for Western Cape.
His areas of experience include programme development and financial controls, monitoring and evaluation, research and documentation, organisational development, risk assessment and mitigation, fundraising and training. He is working on religious innovation within churches’ ambivalent role in HIV and AYSRHR.
Rev. Nelis Du Toit
Nelis was with CABSA from 2003 till 2011. He is currently the manager of the Church and Business against HIV & AIDS Trust.
He is married to Liezel and they have two adult children. .
